After the completion of all necessary documents, APU will apply for the COE on behalf of the students. After the COE issuance, the following documents will be sent together with the COE to the students.

After the COE issuance from the Japanese Immigration Bureau, it will be sent to the students immediately.

After receiving the COE, please bring it along with your passport and Notification of Admissions to the nearest Japanese embassy or consulate to apply for your "College Student" visa. Please note that other documents may be required for certain countries.
*Please check with your Japanese embassy or consulate for the necessary documents.
Most students will be able to obtain their visa a few weeks before departure to Japan. Please purchase your air ticket, and prepare any necessary luggage early. You can refer to the "Preparation for APU Campus Life" for more details.

Students will arrive at APU about 2 weeks before the school starts. There will be an entrance ceremony, and an orientation will be conducted to familiarize the students with the campus life. Your university life will begin with the commencement of classes after the orientation.
