Japan is well known as being one of the safest, cleanest and most peaceful countries in the world. In fact, It is much safer than other popular study abroad destinations like the U.S., Australia, the U.K. or Canada. Beppu City’s beautiful natural surroundings and reputation as an international tourist destination make it an ideal setting for a multicultural university.
Although Japan is often thought to be one of the most expensive places to live, this is not the case in the city of Beppu. Compared to other cities in Japan and other major international cities, our students’ expenses are considerably lower. Tuition fees are also relatively inexpensive compared to those in the U.S., Australia, or U.K. Students can do part time work within legal time limits that are defined by the immigration office.

Today, Japan can boast of being one of the safest countries in the world and has all the facilities that help foreigners feel comfortable here. Since I started my studies as a student here I have been enjoying myself, not worrying about my safety or security. Everything from health to personal safety while in Japan is taken care of here; my parents are also relaxed about this, especially regarding this fact. Also, it might seem from outside, living in Japan might be very expensive, but not in Beppu at all, especially here with the comparatively low cost of living, and many students do part time work so as to support their finance while studying.
Besides my studies, I enjoy the multicultural campus full of international friends and exchange of culture. Therefore, at the end of the day, I find myself satisfied with the safe, affordable and wonderful life here.
