APU belongs to the Ritsumeikan Trust, which is one of the biggest private education trusts in Japan. This trust, with over 100 years of history, established a truly international university to nurture new global leaders in the Asia Pacific Region - this is APU. APU opened in 2000, supported by public sector organisations, various private companies and the APU Advisory Committee of industry, government and diplomatic leaders who supported APU's global concepts.
