We are shaping the world.

If you want to be a game changer,
why not look into International Relations?

War, conflict, poverty, peace, human rights, and politics.
In our society, we cannot be detached from international relations.
But do you still feel it is too far away from your life?
We will show the best that International Relations can do for our life even if you are not going into a real international field in the future.

Why you study International Relations?

Interdisciplinary study in IR piqued my interest.

Before deciding to study International Relations, I contemplated studying business instead since I have always been interested in business and entrepreneurship. However, after comparing what subjects I could study in IR and Business Management, the interdisciplinary study in IR piqued my interest as a way to learn more about the world through various perspectives. Given the study's interdisciplinary nature, I learned how to analyze the correlation between one topic and another. Since I plan to pursue a career as a consultant after graduation, I've acquired knowledge and discipline in various fields such as politics, economics, and law that I believe will be valuable as a future consultant。

International Relations is not only about United Nations and politics.

No matter which career you go into, International Relations provides you with a global perspective and critical understanding of global issues in relation to your field. At my university, Ritsumekan Asia Pacific University in Japan, I am studying under experienced professors from various backgrounds as well as diversity of courses ranging from global economy, to geopolitics, and international law. I believe studying International Relations is not only about working in United Nations and politics, but it can also be expanded to help yourself to become a skillful individual with insightful mind..

Accumulation of hard work behind the scenes

The first thing that came to mind when it comes to International Relations was broad and more about leaning towards political studies. But after I studied International Relations more, I realized that it is more accumulation of hard work behind the scenes. Studying at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, allowed me to study variety of viewpoints with students from 100+ countries and regions. I believe that now my inner strength is much bigger and that tolerance is something I can use on challenges in my future career..

None of us chose the place we were born. Through the eyes of others, the world looks differently. Before you form your opinion, before you make your judgment, before you come to your conclusion, try it. Doing so does not necessarily mean we agree with them. What it does is gives us possibilities to open ourselves up to find an answer to the “why” we have and take our step that bridges the gap.
