What Can You Studyat Ritsumeikan Asia Pacifc University (APU)?
Choose from one of our three colleges - Asia Pacific Studies (APS), International Management (APM), or Sustainability and Tourism (ST). APU offers a unique style of education where students have the flexibility to take courses from all three colleges, regardless of their major. With all courses offered in both English and Japanese, students have the option of completing their program entirely in English while learning the Japanese language along the way.

College of
Asia Pacific Studies (APS)
APS students take introductory courses in political science, sociology, and economics. Building on foundational knowledge from these three areas, students pursue their major disciplinary study in upper-level courses while choosing electives from other disciplines to broaden their perspectives. The diverse menu of active learning at APS includes overseas exchange study, internships, and field studies. Through seminar classes and a thesis or report, students demonstrate their comprehensive and holistic understanding of the issues faced by the Asia Pacific region.

College of
International Management (APM)
APU's College and Graduate School of International Management has earned AACSB and AMBA 'Double Crown' accreditation, placing APU among top management schools not only in Japan but the world. At APM, students tackle business in an environment of unparalleled diversity that offers unique opportunities for both professional and personal growth. Beyond well-rounded and specialized business knowledge, APM students cultivate leadership, entrepreneurship, and global skills while developing an appreciation for diversity and inclusion. They tackle business, environmental, and societal challenges by working with local and international businesses and organizations, addressing real-life issues.

College of
Sustainability & Tourism (ST)
In ST, students learn about the formation of sustainable societies through environmental resource management and sustainable tourism. As one of the few university programs of its kind, we help students become scholar-practitioners, using innovative research to solve real-world issues related to sustainability and tourism. ST supports students in discovering local resources found in nature, history, and culture, aiming to protect and develop them into tourism sources that contribute to regional development.
All classes are offered in both Japanese & English!
Students can choose which language they will take all their classes in before enrolling at APU, but will be required to learn the opposite language.
Students enrolled on English-basis (which means all classes will be in English), will be required to learn the Japanese language!
